Miller Homes has once again brought forward proposals to build on the filed at Winton.  This is the second time in 4 years that this site has come back for development.

Local people have fought the development on this site for some time.  Miller Homes has banked this land and has consistently tried to get planning permission for residential development.

In 2012 the Council refused their application for 17 houses.  The developers appealed to the Reporters Unit and it was refused after a concerted campaign from local people.  The main reason for refusal was that the 17 homes would not contribute anything to the housing number of the local plan or the regional plan and was therefore not a justification for removing this area from the greenbelt.

The developers are back again but were refused planning for 18 homes at the end of 2014.  They have since appealed that decision.

The Reporters are currently determining that appeal.

All the details can be found at the City of Edinburgh Planning Portal

The original planning reference number is 14/05137/FUL.  If you then go into the "related cases" tab you will see the appeal information.

Please sign this petition to say that allowing this development is against planning policy, against the impending City of Edinburgh Local Development Plan, is contrary to local planning policy and would remove a much valued local amenity from the greenbelt.
