This year it will cost £4.7m to run the Marie Curie Hospice in Edinburgh, which actively promotes a better quality of life for people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses completely free of charge.
Whilst around one third of this money will be provided by the NHS, the remainder is funded through the generosity of local supporters and businesses.
In support of the fantastic work they do, I’d like to invite all members of the community to attend their upcomingChristmas Fair on the 8th November at 2pm till 4.30pm in St.Giles Church Hall, Marchmont.
There will be a wide variety of stalls, with home baking and a prize draw. Tea, coffee, juice and cakes will all be available, and tickets are just £2 for adults and £1 for children.
