On Wednesday I visited, with Jackie Baillie MSP, a burgeoning local business, Vegware. They have won award after award after award.
We spoke about the outlook for high growth businesses and what policies should be put in place to assist.
On Wednesday, Shadow Minister for Trade and Investment Ian Murray MP and Scottish Labour’s Finance Spokesperson Jackie Baillie MSP visited compostable food packaging firm Vegware to show their support and learn more about small and medium sized enterprises.
Vegware, based in Polwarth, is the fourth-fastest growing firm in Scotland, and Murray and Baillie used the visit to congratulate them on their success and discuss the opportunities and challenges they face.
Speaking at the visit today, local MP Ian Murray said:
“Vegware is the first and only fully compostable food packaging firm in the UK, and it is great to see such a unique home-grown small business thriving in my constituency.
“Vegware have won a number of awards for sustainability and innovation. They are growing very quickly.
“It was great to have the opportunity to discuss the challenges of business growth with Vegware and I look forward to working with them in the future”
Jackie Baillie MP added:
“Today’s visit to Vegware was fascinating. It was great to hear about the products which this award-winning business supplies and I have no doubt that they will continue to go from strength to strength”
